Located deep in the Camargue, at the end of the Rhône delta, the Beauduc spot is a bit like the end of the world! The final access via a dirt track bears witness to what you'll find when you arrive: a vast natural area 🌱
Beauduc's advantages are numerous. Wind 💨 all the time thanks to its geographical location, sun🌞 and wide open spaces allowing beginners to learn in complete safety. The little extra is that bivouacking is tolerated on the beach! So, you've got a hankering for van life 😉

You'll find it easiest to sail with the Mistral blowing from the North, North-West, South and South-West, which will be sideways. You can also sail with a westerly wind (on-shore), which means you'll have to know how to sail upwind.
Be careful, the only danger on the spot is if the wind blows southeast, in which case you'll be off-shore.

An atypical spot has its own characteristics and implies some good practices to know 🙂

1/ VEHICLE RESTRICTION

To access Beauduc beach, your vehicle must be no wider than 2.07m (there are concrete bollards limiting access).

2/ AN ISOLATED SPOTLIGHT

As you've already guessed, the Beauduc spot is a wilderness away from civilization. This means you won't find anything there, so be sure to bring something to drink💧 , eat🍎 , and a first-aid kit.

3/ A PROTECTED AREA

This beach in the heart of the Camargue is a protected natural area, so remember not to leave any trace of your passage! 🌱

From Marseille, it's a 2h15-minute drive to Beauduc beach.

Take the A55 motorway towards Port de Bouc/Fos-sur-Mer, then the N568 to the junction with the D268 towards Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. Then head for the Salins de Giraud by taking the "Barcarin ferry", which is a kind of small ferry required to cross the branch of the Rhône that passes through here.
You will then finish your journey towards Beauduc by taking an unsurfaced track. At the end of the track you'll find space to park.

REMINDER🚨: Access to the spot is limited to vehicles over 2.07m wide.

To sum up

To sum up

Beauduc is a huge natural spot that attracts many riders all year round, not least because of its good wind and sun conditions. Its isolated location at the end of the Camargue makes it an atypical spot, so you'll need to take precautions before heading out. So don't forget your water and everything else you need for a good session, because all you'll find on site is sand and salt water 😉
